The Commons
Your community's shared beans: where they come from, and how they are spent.
What it is
The Commons is your community's shared pool of beans. It belongs to everyone.
Beans come into it from:
- the 1.5% market fee on every completed trade;
- the circulation fee on large balances. See "The circulation fee".
Seeing it
Tap Commons. At the top, Commons Pool shows how many beans it holds. Tap the ⓘ next to The Commons for how it works: How It Works, Circulation Fees and Voting.
Community Treasuries are listed under Enterprises. Tap one to see its balance and every bean in and out. These accounts are open to every member.
Spending it
The Commons' beans are spent only by a community Decision: a grant to an enterprise, a hardship grant to a member, or writing off a debt. See "Proposing a Decision". Decisions about the Commons' beans are counted with voice credits, from completed trades.
The Commons also covers a member's debt when they leave or are removed. See "Leaving or deleting your account".
