Event chat
Talk with the host and everyone going to an event.
Who is in it
Every event has its own chat. The host and everyone who has tapped Going can read it and write in it. If you change to Interested, or tap Going again to clear it, you leave the chat. The host is always in it.
Opening it
- Open the event and tap Open event chat.
- Or find it in Talk, under Messages, with your other chats.
At the top, a pinned box shows the host's Note for people who are going, such as the exact address. Tap View event to go back to the event.
Writing
Type in Message everyone going… and tap Send. You can send up to 30 messages a minute.
Good to know
- Event chats are not end-to-end encrypted. The host, everyone going, and the people who run your community's server can read them. The chat says so at the bottom.
- The host can remove any message. It then says "removed by the host".
- Messages cannot be edited, and there are no reactions.
- When the event ends or is cancelled, the chat becomes read-only. Some time later it goes away.
